Eddie Charlton was born
Sept.1947. He attended Newlands Primary School, Parkhead along with
his brother Brian (see Newlands Primary
1960a). Then Riverside Secondary School (see photo Riverside
1959 )
Eddie and Brian were brought up by
their mother who was widowed when Eddie was only 5 and Brian 2. They
lived in Edmiston St. Parkhead. Eddie later served his time as a
Turner Fitter in Davy & United, Bridgeton, he also attended David
Dale College in Bridgeton.
Eddie married in 1968 to Eleanor
Parker, emigrated to South Africa in 1972 where he lived till he
returned to Scotland in 2001. They had three children before his
marriage ended in divorce. Sadly, he was killed in an industrial
accident in July 2001 not long after returning to Scotland. His name
is engraved on the Memorial Wall in Kelvingrove Museum just inside
the rear entrance on the right hand side.
